About

I'm Radek, a design leader in Wrocław working on complex B2B platforms.

Background

I was born in 1989 and grew up a book-loving kid with a big love for wildlife. That probably comes from my dad, who was a forester, like his father and grandfather.

After high school I moved to Wrocław to study. I tried philosophy and art history, then graduated in design and visual communication.

Work

I started as an art director at EY, then moved into product design, working closely with engineering teams on UX and UI. Over time I moved into design leadership: building and running design teams, UX strategy and design systems. Today I lead product design for HabiCen at Unik System Design.

I have over 10 years of experience in product design, six of them managing design teams. I've solved problems for Unik System Design, Hyland, SDH, Northpass, Uber, Objectivity and EY, and worked with governments, software houses and start-ups across Europe and the USA.

How I work

I look at problems from the customer's side and use research and analysis to help them reach their goals. I do my best work on complex problems that need teamwork and knowledge from several fields. I value working with people I can learn from, and the connections I've built are the part of my career I value most.

Influences

Donald Norman, Jared Spool, Steve Krug, Alan Cooper, Jamie Levy, Jeff Gothelf, Edward Tufte and Daniel Kahneman.

Outside work

I hike and take long mountain trips, cook, paint miniatures, collect electronic music on vinyl, and I'm learning the guitar. I also look after legacy cats.
